Kathy
Brookes – Local 827-M
President of CEP Local 827-M, which represents workers at CFTK
Television and several radio stations in Northwestern B.C. owned by Astral
Media and Vista Radio. She is a full-time employee at CFTK in Terrace, anchoring
the evening newscast. Kathy also chairs the Independent Broadcast
Locals Council (IBLC) which coordinates bargaining goals and supplementary
strike assistance among a number of CEP broadcast locals in Western Canada. She
has been a member of the Media Council Steering Committee since late
2004.

Tom Kehoe – Local 899
President
for 5 years of CEP Local 899 CTV Alberta (Edmonton/Calgary) and is
employed as a E.N.G. photographer. Prior to that has been Chief Steward
and Vice President giving me 15 years of Union involvement. Has completed over
13 Union courses and graduated from the Labour College of Canada in 2005. Was
active in organizing A-Channel Edmonton and has been involved in various CEP
Campaigns.

Rob Munro – Local 2000
Worked as a reporter, photographer, ads sales and in other functions in
newspapers in B.C. for 18 years - including 10 years as a reporter with the
Kelowna Daily Courier - before being elected as a full-time Vice-President of
Local 2000 in 1999. He works out of his home office in Kelowna and services
about two dozen daily and community newspapers throughout B.C. Local 2000
is a composite local with about 2,700 members and 50 contracts,
representing most unionized newspapers in B.C. along with a number of print
shops and the manufacturing plant of Purdy's Chocolates.

"Richard
Leitner is a reporter with a Torstar-owned chain of weekly newspapers in
Hamilton. A member of the executive of CEP Local 87-M (Southern Ontario
Newsmedia Guild) in a variety of capacities over the past 15 years, he

Jeanine Appleton-Bott, Local 723-M
She was elected to the national Steering
Committee back in April and she just wanted to drop you a line about herself and
how you can contact her with any questions or concerns.
She is currently employed with CITYTV,
which will probably be owned by Rogers Communications by the end of this year.
She has been involved with her local since it’s inception in 1988. She has held
various positions from Steward to VP (for a short time). She is currently the
local’s treasurer; in her 3rd term.
This is the first time she’s been involved
on a National basis. She looks forward in helping us unite as much as possible.

Jonathan Ahee – Local 700-M
Jonathan started working in the Film &
Television production industry ten years ago at age eighteen as a Special
Effects assistant to help pay for his university studies in Economics. Over the years he worked his way up to the
position of Special Effects Key and became a licensed Pyrotechnician authorized
to work throughout Canada. He joined
Local 700-M as a full member in 2002 and immediately became active within the
local. He volunteered on many local
union committees and projects and eventually ran for the position of Senior
Vice President. After serving one term
as Senior VP he ran and won for the Position of President which he is currently
serving.
In addition to his duties and
responsibilities as President of Local 700-M he is also the Freelance
Representative on the Media Council Steering Committee and is one of two
representatives from Ontario on the National Young Workers Committee for the
CEP. he was also the primary organizer
in a campaign to organize film technicians in Ottawa on low budget productions
His Family is heavily involved in the film
industry and within labour relations.
He has an older brother who is a SPFX Coordinator and is a member of
Local 700 and a younger brother who is planning to become a Director of Photography. His father is a former Pipefitter and
currently works as a Labour Lawyer for many construction trade unions. So it would seem he has managed to merge his
love for Filmmaking and his interest in Labour Relations into the perfect
career. Representing Film and
Television Technicians!
